Brightview Lunch with Garden Sense

Wakefield Co-op invited Jean Longo Anderson, Wakefield resident and owner of Garden Sense, to attend the bank’s May Lunch & Learn and teach residents how to make tropical plant terrariums. Jean talked about the elements that go into creating a terrarium, the healthy, happy, grounding benefits of touching dirt, and the history of the mini-greenhouses - where English botanist, Dr. Nathaniel Ward, designed glass boxes allowing plants to be shipped on long boat trips to new countries and survive. After building their terrariums, the 20 senior residents enjoyed lunch from House Calls Catering provided by the bank.
