Wakefield Co-operative Bank is proud to sponsor the Wakefield 4th of July Parade again this year. This year's Hollywood themed parade begins at 5pm on July 4, 2019 and starts on North Ave. (near exit 39) and travels to Main Street in the center of Wakefield.
The parade committee is still in need of volunteers to make the event run as smoothly as possible. Please contact Amy Braid at Wakefield Independence Day Committee if you are available to help make this incredible community event flourish on the 4th.
The West Side Social Club activities and Wakefield Independence Day Parade schedule for the day is as follows:
7:30am-10:30am: Children's Fishing Derby (ages 2-14 years): ages 2-14 years *under 12 must be must be accompanied by an adult. Registration begins at 7:00am at the Lower Common (WSSC)
8:30am: Pet Show. Registration begins at 8:00am: Upper Common (WSSC)
9:00am: Cart, Tricycle, and Scooter Parade. Registration begins at 8:30am: Upper Common (WSSC)
10:00am: Doll Carriage Parade. Registration begins at 9:30am: Upper Common (WSSC)
11:00am: Bicycle Parade. Registration begins at 10:30am: Upper Common (WSSC)
12:00pm: Diaper Derby (crawling race) Children’s Races (Toddlers thru 12 Years old,) and Adult Races: Lower Common (WSSC)
1:00 PM Canoe and Kayak Races: Starting at the Head of the Lake to the Lower Common *under 18 years of age must be must be accompanied an adult (WSSC)
3:30pm: Roads begin closing for the parade
5:00pm-7:00pm: The 74th Wakefield 4th of July Parade (WIDC)
6:30pm Buckley Brothers Band at the Band Stand (WSSC)
