Wakefield Co-operative Bank is proud to sponsor Wakefield Alliance Against Violence's 4th Annual 'Racing to End Domestic Violence' 5K taking place Saturday, October 5th at Lake Quannapowitt. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and all donations from the event go toward Wakefield Alliance Against Violence's efforts of educating and combating violence in the community. WAAV coordinates educational programs for students in schools and for members of the community and connects individuals and families to agencies that offer intervention and direct service to people experiencing violence. WAAV also uses proceeds from the race to provide the Wakefield Police Department with gift cards which are given to domestic violence survivors in emergency situations.
