Wakefield, MA – The 5th Annual Parent University will take place Saturday, March 10th at Galvin Middle School from 8:30am – 12pm. The event is sponsored by Wakefield Co-operative Bank and presented by Wakefield Public Schools, Wakefield Academy, Wakefield Parent Partnership, Wake-Up Coalition, Wakefield SEPAC, and WCAT. Parent University is open to the public and parents & caregivers in surrounding area towns are welcome to register.
Parent University provides knowledge and advice from community experts through a series of free workshops focusing on students’ educational experience and well-being. Attendees may choose from a variety of sessions within the categories of Curriculum, Growth Mindset, and “The Whole Child Matters”.
This year’s key note speaker and back by popular demand, Carrie Stack, M.Ed., will present “The Positive Promise: See it, Say it, Share it”. Ms. Stack is a Certified Life Coach, author and motivational speaker with over 25 years of experience, providing people with skills and tools to make positive changes in their lives.

Free childcare ‘Kid Camp’ will be provided by Wakefield Academy for ages 4-13. Children will be grouped by age and rotate through activities led by staff at Kidcasso, Kids’ Test Kitchen, Kidzfun, Pedro, Judo, and Sports Zone. Registration for Kid Camp ends March 5th and parents must register for childcare when registering for Parent University.
