Wakefield, MA – Fifteen female business owners will take part in International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8th by encouraging locals to shop small and support women-owned businesses in Wakefield.
Ladies who shop at participating businesses on March 8th will receive a flower as a ‘thanks’ for being part of the movement and progress of women in business. Some participating businesses will also offer special deals and promotions that day as well.
The event is proudly presented by the Wakefield Merchants Group and sponsored by Wakefield Co-operative Bank, which is providing flowers at no cost to the business owners.
“We as female business owners are excited to band together on International Women’s Day to support one another, and to express our great appreciation for everyone who supports us by visiting our shops and businesses,” said Liz Hylan Ferreira who owns and operates Sweetbay with her mother, Beth Hylan.
“Everyone here at the bank is happy to work with such a creative, motivated group of women in celebrating International Women’s Day,” said Jennie Terry, Marketing Manager. “We as a community should be proud of the many female business owners in Wakefield for their accomplishments and the passion they pour into their work.”
