Wakefield Co-operative Bank President & CEO, Jeff Worth, shared his gratitude for the bank’s employees and the Wakefield and Lynnfield communities during Thanksgiving season by giving away 63 turkeys and dozens of gift cards.
Everyone who works at the bank was gifted an 18 pound turkey or a gift card to Farmland. For every bank employee, one turkey was donated back into the community.
The bank teamed up with Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry and Lynnfield for Love to then provide 52 local families with a turkey to help with their holiday festivities. The food pantry and Lynnfield for Love both packed bags full of sides such as stuffing, corn, and cranberry sauce to complete the meal; the food pantry’s 26 meals were handed out to nearby local families and Lynnfield for Love’s were donated to families at Callahan Elementary School in Lynn, where Lynnfield resident, Jim Kennison, is Principal.
“I had been reflecting on all I’m thankful for this year and among the top few is our family here at Wakefield Co-operative Bank,” said Worth. “Without our employees’ hard work, dedication, and love for our community, we would not be as great as we are. I also thought about how many deserving families there are who could use an extra hand to help out around the holidays, so it all came together as the perfect way to show my appreciation for all.”
