President Worth Shares Thanks and Gratitude

Jeff Worth Darlene Kumar

Wakefield Co-operative Bank President & CEO, Jeff Worth, shared his gratitude for the bank’s employees and the local community this Thanksgiving season by giving away 57 turkeys and three dozen $50 gift cards out of his own pocket.

Everyone who works at the bank was gifted a 20 pound turkey or a gift card to Farmland in Wakefield, and for every bank employee, Worth donated one turkey back into the community via Wakefield Food Pantry and Lynnfield for Love.

This is the 2nd year Worth’s donations to Wakefield Food Pantry and Lynnfield for Love have provided 50 local families with a turkey to help with their holiday festivities. Wakefield Food Pantry and Lynnfield for Love both packed bags full of sides like stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce and pie to complete the meals; the food pantry’s 25 meals were handed out to nearby local families and Lynnfield for Love’s were donated to families at Callahan Elementary School in Lynn, where Lynnfield resident, Jim Kennison, is Principal.

“Every holiday season I reflect on why the year has been special and as always this year, I didn’t have to think long or look hard to find the answer. It’s our family here at Wakefield Co-operative Bank, a family that makes me so proud to come to work every day,” said Worth. “I also know there are many deserving families around us that are not quite as fortunate, who will sit down and share time together. We’ll always remember the responsibility our bank has to our communities and do the right thing for people who need us to step up and help out.”
