Sponsored by Wakefield Co-operative Bank, the Wakefield Food Pantry is holding two online auctions which include fabulous items and gifts.
1st Auction: October 18th – 25th with a special preview of items beginning October 11, 2020
2nd Auction: November 15th – 22nd
There is something for everyone during these auctions with bids starting as low as $10 and as high as $1,000 with many options in between. Some items you will find include a variety of restaurant gift cards, a visit by Princess Belle or Princess Snow White to a child’s birthday party, a foursome of golf at the Ferncroft Country Club, an ancient Byzantine Empire coin, and a coveted 2 week reserved parking space at Wakefield High School for a student. In addition, participants will find amazing and creative gift baskets, beautiful artwork and stunning handmade quilts.
Maureen Miller, Executive Director of the Wakefield Food Pantry encourages everyone to participate. This year, mainly as a result the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wakefield Food Pantry experienced over a 30% increase in the number of households visiting the pantry, and the pantry had to cancel in-person fundraising events.
“That’s why these online auctions are so important to raising money we need to keep the pantry operational and the shelves full,” explains Miller. “It’s a win-win; you help the pantry and you get incredible unique items for yourself or those on your holiday shopping list!"
