Blueprints of Love Jeans Day

Blueprints of Love Jeans Day

Wakefield Co-operative Bank employees recently wore jeans to work to benefit Blueprints of Love, a 100% volunteer-based organization that designs rooms of healing and creativity for children battling serious health conditions. The bank’s President & CEO, Jeff Worth, doubled employee contributions, resulting in a donation of $505.

Every month, bank employees are encouraged to wear denim to work on designated ‘Jeans Days’ in exchange for a donation to a community organization. Blueprints of Love -- whose President & Design Director, Jessica Griffin lives in Wakefield -- was chosen by employees as a Jeans Day recipient for its mission to revitalize children’s’ spirits and imaginations during their difficult times. Blueprints of Love has redesigned beautiful family room spaces and dream bedrooms for kids with the intention of evoking comfort, security and relaxation for all family members.

“It’s always our hope to bring inspiration and happiness to the children we meet and there’s nothing better than the reaction of a joyful child as they open the door to their newly designed space,” said Griffin. “We are so grateful for this donation from Wakefield Co-operative Bank employees, as we rely solely on the generous contributions of community partners to provide these healing spaces at no cost to local families.”

Due to Covid, Blueprints of Love has tweaked their mode of giving until they can resume in-person redesigns and is delivering Baskets of Joy to local children dealing with illness and in need of some sunshine. Each basket is filled with personal touches based on each child, including bedroom accessories, crafts, and more.

Since its inception in 2018, Wakefield Co-operative Bank’s Jeans Day program has resulted in over $18,000 in community donations to local organizations such as A Healthy Lynnfield, Communitas, The Food Drive in Melrose, Habitat for Humanity, Lynnfield for Love, MelroseWakefield Hospital, Mission of Deeds, Reid’s Ride and many more.
