Week 1: GROUNDHOG DAY
Did you know groundhogs are strict herbivores & eat a variety of vegetables? In honor of Groundhog Day this week, we’re collecting canned beans, peas, carrots, corn & other veggies!
February 2/6 - 2/11
Week 2: LUNAR NEW YEAR
Fish is a staple for Chinese New Year & considered a ‘lucky’ food. Also always included in the celebration are rice cakes. This week we’re collecting canned white tuna fish, rice, boxed or bagged noodles, canned oranges & tangerines.
February 2/13 - 2/18
Week 3: VALENTINE’S DAY
In honor of V-Day, we’re collecting items that are RED! Suggested items include canned or jarred: sauces, stewed & crushed tomatoes, chili, beets, salsa (& chips!) and red lentil pasta.
February 2/20 - 2/28
Week 4: PRESIDENTS’ DAY
Presidents' Day is in the heart of the winter season! This week we’re collecting HEARTY staples to keep the warmth in our heart & belly, such as canned chili, stew & hearty soups; boxed or canned pasta meals & pasta roni; spaghetti sauce.
