New Paintings Being Displayed at WCB's Lynnfield Branch

Now Displaying at Wakefield Co-operative Bank's Lynnfield Branch 'Bringing art to banking' wall...the paintings of talented LAG artist Beth Aaronson

About Beth Aaronson

Beth has always enjoyed making art. Her life-long hobby of drawing and painting was a creative outlet, providing balance to my career as an appellate attorney. In 1991, she started taking watercolor classes with Wakefield artist Bill Velmure and found that watercolor appealed to her because of its immediacy, spontaneity and the happy accidents that can occur. Beth did not know enough to feel daunted by watercolor's difficulties and I loved mixing my own colors. She remains intrigued by the interplay of light and water in all its forms and experimenting with controlled vs. loose techniques and both realistic and abstract painting. Aaronson has been fortunate to study with other local artists, including Fran Nola, Eileen Montbleau, Pauline Bacon, and currently, Bill Deveney.

Aaronson's paintings are inspired by her interests and passions for gardening, hiking, bird watching, kayaking, and traveling. Beth recently reexamined her existing paintings with an eye for creating collages and discovered the incredible freedom of reassembling and recreating pieces of some watercolor paintings into new thematic works. As she display a collection of these collages, Beth hopes that the viewers will find them playful, enjoyable, and worthy.

Soon after she began painting, Beth joined the Lynnfield Art Guild (LAG), where she connected with the local art community. An active member, Beth has continued to serve on LAG'S board in numerous leadership positions, including as president.

Beth's volunteer life includes serving on the Lynnfield Tree Committee for over a decade. Beth and husband Michael are the proud parents of three adult sons and six grandchildren.
